President Fox will discuss how Mexico views the U.S. and the future of relations between the two countries. He will discuss the Trump administration and address the issues of immigration, trade, a possible renegotiation of NAFTA, the 2018 World Cup and his views on a “humane” drug policy.
Media are invited to attend press conference where President Fox will provide a brief preview of his keynote address and answer questions. All media must be credentialed in advance; media showing up without advance confirmation may be denied entry. Media may also cover keynote address with prior arrangement.
Since leaving the presidency with a 70 percent approval rating, President Fox has been outspoken about politics in the U.S. and Latin America. He has been critical of the Trump administration, specifically the planned wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. In July President Fox was banned from Venezuela for expressing his support for forces opposing the government of Nicolas Maduro.
