LOS ANGELES. Dec. 11, 2018 – Seed&Spark, an online platform that offers crowdfunding for independent movie and television creators and a streaming subscription service for audiences that emphasizes diversity and inclusion, has released 12 new titles, including 7 Seed&Spark exclusives. Among the newly released titles are “The Dark of Night,” the directorial debut of Golden Globe winning actress Robin Wright; “The Seventh Fire,” produced by Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman; and “Prestige Ingredients,” starring Alia Shawkat (“Arrested Development”).

The Dark of Night

• One dark and stormy night a woman on her way to a job interview in Chicago finds shelter from a violent downpour at an isolated diner where shifting tensions and unexpected alliances end in tragedy. Directed by Robin Wright (“House of Cards”) in her film directorial debut.

The Seventh Fire
Documentary feature; Seed&Spark exclusive
• When Rob Brown, a gang leader on a Minnesota reservation, is sentenced to prison again, he must confront his role in bringing violence to his Ojibwe community. However, his seventeen-year-old protege, Kevin, dreams of becoming the most feared gangster. The film was executive produced by Natalie Portman (“Jackie”).

• A stifled, young Hollywood actress (Alia Shawkat, “Arrested Development”) slips into a world of mouthwatering delicacies, sweet heartache, and bitter tears when she takes an unlikely job with an inspired rebel chef in Paris.

Buried Above Ground
Documentary feature
• Over a six-year period, the documentary tells the stories of three Americans battling the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, including an Iraq War veteran, a Hurricane Katrina evacuee and a child abuse and domestic violence survivor.

• On a road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, two college best friends reunite over a decade later only to discover a few things about themselves and each other.

The Dinner Scene

• In a cafe somewhere, a solitary screenwriter battles frustration and self-doubt to craft the most dramatically juicy scene between a couple at dinner that she can.

Imber’s Left Hand
Documentary feature; Seed&Spark exclusive
• This documentary tells the inspiring story of Jon Imber, who remains determined to continue his work as an artist despite living with ALS. Thanks to the support of his partner, Imber’s heroic resolve leads to the creation of more than 100 portraits. This is an incredible story about overcoming great obstacles to do what you love.

Facing Fear
Documentary, LGBTQ short
• In this Oscar-nominated film, the worlds of a former neo-Nazi and the gay victim of his senseless hate crime collide, by chance, 25 years after the incident that dramatically shifted their lives. They embark on a journey of forgiveness that challenges them to grapple with their beliefs and fears.

• In a wide-open field in the middle of nowhere, a group of guys play a seemingly innocent game of football, but with each point scored, it becomes apparent that there’s much more at stake than simply winning.
